"I shall start with the examination and due consideration of the provisions of the said Traditional Rulers Law Cap T.4 Laws of Cross river State, 2004 Section 30(1) of this law provides that:

The main object of interpretation is to find out the intention of the law makers, and this is done by diligently examining the language used. Once the meaning is clear, a judge has no alternative but to give effect to it.

"The provision of Section 3 (3) of the Chiefs (Appointment and Deposition) Laws of Kwara State, 2006 with respect to the requirement for representation to be made to the Governor after appointment of Olofa of Offa by a candidate who lost"

HELD:

"Section 3(3) of the Chiefs (Appointment and Deposition) Law of Kwara State confers jurisdiction on the Governor of the State to settle disputes arising from the appointment of Chiefs in the State.

HELD:

"Section 3(3) supra reads as follows: In the case of any dispute, the Governor after due inquiry and consultation with persons concerned in the selection shall have the final say as to whether the appointment of any chief has been made in accordance with customary law and practice.
